autonomous practice group 4 progress
After that concept we were focusing on completely different rules, all of them to be exact. We wanted to create a kind of space/room that would inflate where there would be no rules. These are the first sketches of the room/space.
We wanted to create a kind of airbag that would blow itself up and push people that are close to you away. This was connected to the rues od the school about freedom of what you can ware and the fact that sexual abuse isn’t allowed in school.
These are 2 videos of the first experimentations with inflatables.
We had to create an inflatable with a constant stream of air that was about something that irritated us in the everyday life. We decided to make a syringe because we are not ok with the fact that older people get the coronavirus vaccine instead of the young people. As you can see the blower was a bit to powerful and our syringe almost exploded.
We needed some kind of presurised air capsue to inflate the airbag, but this didnt work for us.
When we met up in the fabric station at school we came up with another idea of how the room could look like. We decided that a square was quite a reasonable shape to create with the fabric we had, hot air balloon fabric.
After trying to realize this shape we discovered that it would be to hard to make in the time we had so we changed the plan back to the old idea of a pyramid shaped tent.
These where the first tests of the old-new idea. The tent didn’t had the shape we wanted.
So after some fumbling around we attached some lines to the tarp we had and made it almost like the first sketches we had.
Here you can see the tent in action.
And this is the video we created to advertise the tent.
This is a google document we used to document all the ideas and inspirations we had. Below this document are a few inspirational pictures we used for our end project.
This is the presentation with the text Mereke wrote.
